UK has the best wind in Europe
A new report by the Environmental Change Institute at Oxford University shows that the UK has the best wind resource in Europe. The report, commissioned by the Department of Trade and Industry, analysed hourly wind speeds collected by the Met Office at 66 locations across the UK since the 1970, making it the most extensive research of the UK's wind resource to date.

Community owned wind turbines cause excitement !
The proposed Airfield Windfarm near Podington, Bedford, which was submitted for planning permission last week, is causing excitement. The nine 2.3MW turbines on a disused Airfield near the Santa Pod racetrack, is unique in that the developer, Nuon Renewables, has offered one of the 2.3MW turbines for community ownership.
